Photology Gallery
Photology was established in 1992 being the first gallery in Italy specialized in photographic arts with more than 350 exhibitions organized worldwide, so far. We have been working for 27 years collaborating with international artists, archives and foundations operating on different areas of photo-art: exhibitions in art galleries, museums and institutions; ecommerce, publishing, corporate consulting, workshops, social projects, artist-in-residence and academic programs. Main Photology galleries: Milan (1992-2015), Cortina (1992-1995), London (1997-2000), Bologna (2000-2003), Paris (2007), Noto, Sicily (2013-Now). Photology is open in Pueblo Garzón since 2015 featuring exhibitions by Helmut Newton, Carlo Mollino, Leo Matiz, Ron Galella, Pierlugi Praturlon, Andy Warhol, Christopher Makos, Allen Ginsberg, Gianfranco Gorgoni, Martin Parr and selected Uruguayan photo-artist.
Photology Bookshop, Collectors Project Room & Art Rooms
Photology Editions are for sale in our Garzón Bookshop and a special Art Installation is always available in the new Collectors Project Room. Regarding accommodations our Art Rooms combine the experience of photo-art with Italian vintage furniture in the peaceful hideaway of Pueblo Garzón, 30 kms from the naturalistic beach area of José Ignacio, Uruguay. Our three rooms independently accessible from a garden patio, are one block away from the main square and few kms from Bodega Garzón and Las Colinas. You may enjoy our exclusive vicinity awarded by the New York Times as one of the best sites to visit, with walking+bike trails, wine+oil tasting & more.
Bodega Garzón has been chosen as New World Winery of the Year 2018, by the Wine Star Awards 2018 organized by Wine Enthusiast, the prestigious magazine specialized in the wine sector of the United States. Bodega Garzón is making history, as this award recognizes the work it has been carrying out for over a decade, introducing Uruguayan wines at an international level, as well as the contribution it has made to tourism and wine culture in general.
CAMPO is a nonprofit creative community (American 501c3 and Uruguayan foundation) located in the tiny village of Pueblo Garzon, Uruguay founded by Heidi Lender, an American photographer and writer. CAMPO’s mission is to raise consciousness through creative expression, supporting international artists through a residency program twice a year, and inspiring community and cultural exchange through a collaborative food lab (CAMPO Canteen reopening December 15, 2019) and an annual art festival, CAMPO Artfest (December 28 + 29, 2019).
